Seminar Series

Coastal Computer Consulting has developed a Tips and Tricks seminar series to help you get the most out of your computer. Our seminar series takes the years of experience we have and shares with you the secrets that the professionals use! You don’t have to be a computer genius or technically inclined to learn how to get the most out of your computer, if you can turn on a computer you will benefit from these seminars. Our seminars are designed so that the end user can understand why their machine(s) are running slow, how to prevent and reduce spam, how to upgrade your machine and much more!

In our performance tuning seminar you will learn the basics of hardware, what you can do to make your older machine or slow machine perform like new. We money saving tips that can save you thousands of dollars! If you are considering purchasing a new machine or upgrading your current machine you simply cannot afford to miss this seminar. In addition we cover the fundamentals of Vista, how to disable the annoyances, what you need to know before upgrading or installing Vista, and how to optimize your machine if you already have Vista.

In Security Fundamentals we explain how to protect your machine and data, prevent viruses and spam, and safe guard you, your children, and employees from unwanted sites on the internet. We review best practices in networking, including wireless networking, to prevent intrusions, what you need to know to configure high speed internet and what you need to consider when configuring a network to share files/ internet access in both business and home environments.

Our Office Productivity seminar covers the basics of Word and Excel 2003/2007, revealing the new look and showing you where all tools/ file menus moved to. We cover Macro security, why you need it, what it is and how to work with it. In the second part of the series we cover Open Office and a first look at Linux, dispelling rumors showing you what free software looks like, how you get it, and if it is a viable option for you, your business or home machine.
 

Our seminars are approximately three (3) hours long for each subject matter, crammed with real life information and always in small classroom settings (20 people or less). The morning seminars typically are 9am-Noon and the afternoon seminars are 1pm – 4pm. You must register to attend the seminar, light snacks and beverages are always served during the seminar.  Most of our seminars are $85 per seminar or $149 for the entire day, this includes course materials.
